Pray Warriors
and Counselors
Why are these clumped together?
You need them both.
Additionally, often times the Prayer Warriors become
Counselors.
Where/How do we find them?
Church
1) Advertising in Church Bulletins - Unless the
ads are placed repeatedly they are unsuccessful and will yield few
regardless.
2) Face-to-Face - There is nothing that compares
to looking about the church to see someone that remains to pray
following a church service or comes early to pray. This is a Special
Christian. Simply coming up to this person and introducing yourself
is a good beginning. Let them know how much their help is needed
in whatever way they feel comfortable - Possibly they have something
special to offer that can be expressed as a need (a language skill
etc). Then extend a personal invitation - This will provide a “life
saver”
3) Prayer groups can be a big help - Prayer groups
generally meet weekly - Invite them to meet and pray at the abortuary
once a month or weekly. Their appearance may be strong initially
and diminish. Regardless, there will be one or more that will see
the need (be called) and return, group or no group.
4) Search for a Leader - A Minister, Priest, or
Ministry Leader - Encourage this individual to become involved.
The others will follow. Suppose their commitments do not allow them
to become involved? Commit them to motivating and encouraging others
to come (especially groups in which they are involved).
5) Does your church have a ministry that is related?
(Help for single moms or babies? Or other related ministry?) Make
a presentation encouraging their involvement.
6) Does your church have a Pro-Life Ministry? New
church members previously involved in pro-life work will contact
that office. Make sure your name is on a contact list for those
interested in pro-life activities.
7) Exhausted your church? Hey, there are others.
Search for other churches to become involved. A Church Member, Leader,
or Minister may be helpful.
Synagogues
We have requested that Rabbis and some from local
synagogues become involved- We have found Orthodox Jews are Pro-Life.
Orthodox Jews will not come to an abortuary on their Sabbath (Sat)
The Reform; in all probability will not share our pro-life view.
Colleges
Some College Fraternities or Sororities will promote
community services as well as some colleges themselves. There may
be a group on campus with a related interest. Additionally, college
students maybe motivated to come as a research paper or project.
Advertise in the college newsletter/newspaper. Additionally, let
them know that you are available for presentations or workshops.
As part of the presentation extend invitations to come to the abortuary
for practical experience or observation. In this way, you have educated
a new generation and one or more will come regularly In whatever
you do, persevere!
